Eating before you go to bed is a bad idea. It negatively affects your sleep and can cause heartburn that you don't even know is happening. That subtle heartburn affects your sleep because you're horizontal and your body's digesting. If you want to prove the quality of your sleep and be healthier, do not eat right before you go to sleep. It's gonna crush your sleep and it's going to damage your pyloric sphincter in your esophagus. Drinking and then going to sleep is one of the worst things you can do.[2]
I learned this quite late in life. Avoid having alcohol and avoid eating at least two or three hours before going to sleep. Your quality of life and your quality of sleep will improve. Your general health will improve a lot for sure. It's a big deal and not widely known.[2]
